The Urban Project Kickoff Fundraiser was a resounding success. It was a great way for us to ease into our fundraising schedule with a casual event among friends, and also to have some meaningful face to face conversations about what Urban Project has set out to accomplish.

The Legion generously donated the use of their facility, but they more than made up for the rental loss with reported record drink sales! We were also able to meet our $2000 goal for the evening including “absentee” ticket sales, 100% of which will be on its way to Tanzania to make a big difference in the lives of a group of youth.

The night was packed full of great music. Drumhellar, DJ JoeAve, and Miami Device played three incredible sets that had even the Legion members shaking it on the dance floor. Red Truck graciously donated a pile of t-shirts that helped to backfill a raffle full of some great vintage garb, including a selection of fine vinyl records and a highly coveted purple leather jacket.
